“The Peace and Conflict track was a huge factor in my decision to study at Pardes this semester. It is so inspiring to use Jewish texts to explore tactics for peace-building. We have examined different types of conflicts and various examples of conflict resolution through the stories of Aaron, Amalek, the Purim narrative, and more, and are constantly asked to relate what we’re reading to contemporary issues and personal experiences. I’ve greatly appreciated the “divrei shalom” aspect of the track – we begin each class with a personal account of an attempt in making peace in our own lives, and I have been deeply moved by stories from my peers.”
