“I began to realize that my Jewish knowledge and practice had not kept pace with my academic and professional pursuits. I knew that I wanted Judaism to be an important part of my life, but I wasn’t sure why or how. I came to Pardes to try figure this all this out. Pardes has been an absolutely fantastic experience… I am loving the community and the learning, especially my first tentative steps into ‘the sea of the Talmud’…”

“I grew up in a traditional South African Jewish home in Johannesburg. I attended Jewish day school until I was eighteen, at which point I relocated to the United States and became very active in Jewish life at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Nonetheless, it was not until beginning at Pardes last month that I found myself truly engaging seriously with Jewish texts and Jewish learning.”
