What can we learn about the meaning of life from studying the Rabbis’ understanding of the death penalty? Which transgressions are a capital crime punishable by strangulation, the only type of the death penalty not explicitly stated in the Torah? Through an in-depth study of the last chapter of Mishnah Tractate Sanhedrin we will unpack these questions and also gain a deeper understanding about the relationship between parents and children, as well as Prophets, Rabbis, and the nation.
