Students come to Pardes with a wide range of Hebrew skills—from the most basic to very advanced and fluent. Most students find that a basic grounding in Hebrew is all that is needed to begin studying at Pardes, though stronger Hebrew provides a distinct advantage.
A summer ulpan (Hebrew course) is required for beginner and intermediate students to improve their Hebrew. Most students come to Israel and begin ulpan in July or August.
