Rebekah Dempsey

“I came to study in Israel eager to figure out how I want my Jewish life to look and hoping Pardes would give me the tools to create that life for myself. Through immersion in Jerusalem’s Jewish public sphere and the development of deep Jewish connections in my own home, I’ve found answers and the confidence to act on them. What I am most grateful for, though, is that Pardes is not just a resource for me now. I will continue to depend on Pardes’ faculty and students, who have become trusted friends and teachers, for camaraderie and guidance as my Jewish identity evolves in the coming years and decades.”

At Pardes, Rebekah manages Shabbat Connections, co-chaired second-semester orientation, and learned to Salsa dance! From Chicago originally, Rebekah just finished spending four years in New York City at Barnard College where she majored in architecture and discovered her love of Jewish learning.
