“One day I was talking to my husband about how we had raised 4 kids, and had sent 3 of them to study in various yeshivot for a gap year in Israel. I thought it would be great if we could take off from our jobs, and “send” ourselves for a semester to study in yeshiva. Neither of us had ever had the opportunity to study Jewish texts in a formal setting before, Our rabbi suggested several places, and we thought Pardes would be the best fit for us. I like the diverse Pardes culture, and am very impressed with the seriousness and intelligence of the students here. The teachers are very knowledgeable and interesting. I also love that I was able to go on amazing school tiyulim to places I had never been to before, even though I had been to Israel many times. Living and studying in Yerushaliyim has been a “dream come true.

“When I go back to my routine in America, I hope to pass on my love of Israel and Judaism.”
