“If I could only remember one thing about my time at Pardes it would be this: When I went to New York over Hannukah break to visit friends and family I became aware of two new types of iPhones which had come out since I left the states, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X. I felt substantial pressure to “catch-up” to my friends in their careers and financial comforts. During my time state-side I considered buying the new iPhone until I held it up next to my current phone and realized that they were the exact same except for half an inch of screen and a glossy finish. When I landed back in Israel and walked into Pardes, admittedly with a few more toys than I had left with, not a single person brought up the latest Apple products or the latest products to buy for the holidays. Nope. We got right back to our work. Sharpening our skills of translation, interpretation, and integration of Jewish philosophy and values into our lives. Pouring through texts, listening to the shouts of our wisest ancestors and the whispers of our deepest selves.”

I was born and raised in a suburb of Los Angeles before attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering. After graduating, I worked for the financial software company, Intuit, in silicon valley. Along the way my passions have ranged quite a lot: sports (particularly soccer), music (sang in a band called “This is Life” and had ambitions of becoming a composer), fitness wearable technology (competed in competitions for developing software and hardware while in college), mindfulness and meditation (have spent more than a month of my life in silent meditation and am now training to become a certified instructor). I am incredibly lucky to have a loving extended family and they as well as close friends will always be my number one priority while the other interests shift around.
