Find Peace in Silence:

Opening the Heart Jewish Meditation Retreat

In times of turmoil, finding peace within ourselves becomes essential. The aftermath of October 7th has deeply affected the Jewish community, stirring emotions that words often struggle to capture.

We long for community, for solace and strength, without the need to verbalize the complexities we are facing. The need to take a break from everyday life, to retreat, has never been more necessary.

Opening the Heart is a sanctuary not just of silence, but also of connection—to ourselves, our traditions, and each other. Here, amidst the turmoil, you will find peace in stillness and strength in our shared heritage.

A time for healing.

This retreat will be led by esteemed teachers, including:

  • Rabbi Dr. James Jacobson-Maisels

Rav James leads and directs the vision of Or HaLev. He was the founding Rosh Yeshiva of Romemu Yeshiva and has taught and innovated programs in Jewish thought, mysticism, spiritual practices and meditation at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, Haifa University, Yeshivat Hadar and in a variety of settings around the world. He strives to integrate his study with his practice, and to help teach and live Judaism as a spiritual discipline.

Why Silence?

Silence is a profound healer. In the quiet, we are given the chance to process our emotions deeply, without the pressure to articulate or debate. Or HaLev emphasizes the transformative nature of silence and mindfulness, providing a peaceful setting to simply be with your thoughts and feelings.

Shared Experiences, Shared Strength

The retreat provides an opportunity to be in a community of peers who understand and share your emotional journey. Together, you will find comfort in the shared experience of silence interspersed with Hebrew chants, creating a powerful, communal healing environment.
