Notions of Commemoration – A Tour of Outdoor Monuments at Yad Vashem
When we say Yad Vashem – we think about the Shoah. However, this particular tour is different.
We will tour the campus of Yad Vashem exploring the different monuments and memorials. We sill study them as testimonies to what the state of Israel and the leadership of Yad Vashem chose to showcase.
Thus our tour becomes a journey into the history of Holocaust reembrace in Israel. It is about what happens here.
Our main stops are: The Entrance Square, the Alley of the Righteous Gentiles, The Rappaport Monument. The Box Car, The Yizkor Tent and the Children’s memorial.
We will meet at the entrance to Yad Vashem at 10 AM
Directions
Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water. We will be walking and standing. If you have a traveling folding chair please bring it.
