8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Join Pardes Community Education for a tour with the great Shulie Mishkin:
Tel Aviv: A New Hebrew Culture on Wednesday, February 21. We will leave Pardes at 8:30 AM and return by 5 PM.
Tel Aviv was created as the first Hebrew city, a conscious break with the culture of the Diaspora. Join us as we explore the development of the city and of the new Hebrew/Israeli culture. We will walk through the neighborhood of Neve Zedek, precursor to Tel Aviv and today a trendy artists’ enclave. We will see the artwork of Nahum Gutman in the Shalom Tower and outside it and then walk down Rothschild Boulevard, the heart of Ahuzat Bayit, the neighborhood that became Tel Aviv. We will end with a visit to the Reuven Rubin museum and learn about this artist who helped create a new Israeli aesthetic.
There will be a good amount of walking – flat city walking. Please wear good shoes.
Cost: 180 NIS. Pay at Pardes. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
