With construction at Beit Karen in full swing, the site continues to transform week by week—and we’re excited to share a glimpse of what’s happening now and what’s coming next.
Cement, Steel, and Cranes in the Making
If you’ve checked the live cam or visited in person, you’ll notice that half of the central area is already covered in a thin layer of cement with a visible steel grid pattern. This is the first step in building a stable base. The other half of the site is still being meticulously prepared—yes, even swept clean—before it too will receive its cement covering.
Giant Cranes Incoming
Those enormous “chet”-shaped steel bars on-site? They’re the bases for two massive cranes that will soon tower over the site. Meanwhile, other steel reinforcements are being carefully lowered into place. These are part of the structures into which the concrete foundations will be poured—eventually forming 1.5-meter-high blocks. Once these are fully prepared and approved (in about 8 weeks), we’ll be ready for one of the biggest milestones yet: the full concrete pour. But that’s a story for another day…
