Jerusalem — April 22nd, 2024
The Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Nadis as its new Chief Development Officer (CDO). With more than 15 years of experience in the Jewish nonprofit sector, Nadis brings a deep understanding of philanthropy, stakeholder engagement, and strategic growth to this vital leadership role.
Nadis joins Pardes after serving as Executive Director of the Jerusalem Foundation, Inc., where he successfully raised over $150 million for initiatives focused on community resilience, civil society, and inclusive innovation in Jerusalem. Under his leadership, the organization launched the Jerusalem Foundation Innovation Fund and the Leadership Giving Initiative, both of which brought fresh energy and significant resources to one of the world’s most complex and inspiring cities.
Prior to his work with the Jerusalem Foundation, Nadis held senior development positions at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), where he helped build the organization’s national Real Estate Division and guided a team responsible for more than $10 million in annual giving. He also played key roles in political mobilization and grassroots engagement efforts across the country.
“We are thrilled to welcome Joe to the Pardes leadership team,” said Leon Morris, President of Pardes. “His strategic mindset, relationship-driven approach, and commitment to Jewish life and learning make him an ideal fit for Pardes at this moment of opportunity and growth.”
As CDO, Nadis will lead all aspects of Pardes’ fundraising strategy, overseeing donor relations, major gifts, foundation partnerships, and long-term sustainability planning. He will work closely with senior leadership and lay partners to strengthen Pardes’ global philanthropic community and ensure the continued impact of its educational mission.
Nadis holds a B.A. in History and Creative Writing from the University of Michigan, and lives in White Plains, New York, with his wife Becky and their three children.
“I’m honored to join an institution that has played such a formative role in Jewish learning and leadership for over 50 years,” said Nadis. “Pardes represents the best of Jewish tradition—rooted in text, open to all, and deeply engaged with the challenges of our time. I’m excited to partner with the broader Pardes community to build a strong and vibrant future.”
