After 16 Years of Service, a Difficult Farewell to Chef David Berman and Gail Kirschner

chef david berman

As we enter a new year fraught with unknowns, Pardes is sad to announce that our in-house food services, which have been led for 16 years by our chef extraordinaire, David Berman, will be discontinued.

David Berman has always been far more than a chef. He has cultivated deep relationships with staff and students and has strengthened our community in numerous ways. He was always the first to memorize students’ names, and often the first staff member students turned to when they needed a listening ear. He leaves a significant mark on individuals and on the institution, and we are so sorry to say farewell.

Pardes alumni, staff, faculty and community members are invited to send a message of appreciation to David. Please email your letter to karen@pardes.org.il by Friday, September 18th, Erev Rosh Hashanah.

gail kirschnerAfter 16 years as Administrative Coordinator of the Pardes Center for Jewish Educators, the unparalleled and indefatigable Gail Kirschner will no longer be with us come September. PCJE and Pardes at large will not be the same without her – we will miss her terribly, and we know you will too.

Gail possesses that uniquely Pardes quality of combining consummate professionalism with a sense of real care. She has been the rudder and anchor of the Pardes Center for Jewish Educators – a guide, advisor, and mother figure for students and alumni alike.

Pardes alumni, staff, faculty, and community members are invited to send a message of appreciation to Gail. Please email your note to aviva@pardes.org.il by Friday, September 18th, Erev Rosh Hashanah.
