Pardes Signs Agreement for Construction of New Campus

(JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – January 23, 2020) Pardes is thrilled to report that on December 24th an agreement was signed with NBS, an Israeli real estate development firm, to partner in the development and construction of Pardes’s new home, Beit Karen.

Under this agreement, Pardes will be deeply involved in the design and construction of a multi-use tower to be built on the lot adjacent to Pardes’s current facility in the Talpiot area in South Jerusalem. Pardes will retain ownership of four floors at the base of the tower, consisting of 54,000 square feet, which will include a large and modern beit midrash, multiple prayer spaces, offices, facilities for both faculty and students, state-of-the-art classrooms, a beautiful 250 seat auditorium and more.

“We are very pleased to be entering into partnership with NBS for the development of Beit Keren,” said Joel Weiss, Executive Director of Pardes in Israel, the lead professional managing the project. “We are thankful for the support of the Jerusalem Municipality, which views Beit Karen as the cornerstone for the redevelopment of Talpiot into a leading commercial and residential neighborhood.”

Pardes has also launched a new website for the Campaign for the Generations, the ambitious $36,000,000 capital and endowment campaign to support both the construction efforts and the sacred work of Pardes that will only grow and advance in the modern new facility. Information about Beit Karen, as well as the many naming opportunities available at all levels, can be found on this site. To date Pardes has raised $19,200,000.

“The Campaign for the Generations is a unique opportunity for those who are dedicated to supporting Jewish education and the advancement of Jewish life,” said Pardes President, Rabbi Leon A. Morris. “Pardes is more than a place to learn Torah — it is a leading proponent of open, inclusive, diverse and intellectually challenging learning environments, in Jerusalem and around the world. The growth of Pardes and the need for a new facility speaks not only to Pardes’s successes, but also to the encouraging excitement around learning that we are seeing across the Jewish community.”
