Winter Learning Seminar 2009

“A thing of beauty is a joy forever”: Jewish perspectives on the aesthetic

  • What role does beauty play in Jewish life?
  • Is there a commandment for our homes, synagogues and ritual items to look attractive?
  • How do we maintain balance in a world that has become focused on the external?

Dates

Sunday December 27, 2009 to Friday January 1, 2010

Description

Join Pardes for a unique combination of classic text learning and contemporary relevance, where we will explore these questions and more! The program includes classes, social and volunteering activities, a hike and Friday night dinner all focused around this central theme.

This Seminar is a great chance to check out the rhythm and energy of Pardes and learn more about our long-term programs, or to simply spend a few days in a unique Beit Midrash located in the heart of Jerusalem. It is open to Jews of all backgrounds.
