All of Judaism on One Foot

Study ten biblical verses that summarize all of Judaism...Yes, it can be done.

Personalized Prayer

Tovah Leah Nachmani
Prayer challenges everybody. Sometimes the words are locked, and other times they are open. Sometimes only the melodies can carry the meaning of a prayer. But even the melodies become richer when we understand what the prayers mean. This course will enable the ancient words of prayer to become a bit more sincere and personal, through exploring their content and analyzing their traditional sources.

The ‘Other’ in Judaism
Hindy Ginsberg
In Jewish life, various situations arise in which people are excluded. Women, converts, homosexuals, and non-practicing Jews are just some of the groups who may find themselves left out. This class will explore classic texts in order to understand how and why the Torah treats some differently.

Judaism for Everybody
Michael Feuer
In the concluding section of the Rambam's Mishneh Torah - the Laws of Kings and their Wars - we find Maimonides’ analysis of the relationship between Israel and the nations, such as the seven Noahide laws that apply to all of humanity, his opinion on the potential of non-Jews to be received into the world to come, and the ultimate messianic vision of Israel and the nations. This class is an in-depth exploration of what the Rambam has to say about these and other topics, as well as a forum for articulating new visions of how the Jewish people can engage the world.
