Description
The Hebrew month of Elul is the month leading up to the holiest days of the year – Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Traditionally this month is dedicated to study and introspection.
Come join our Year Program students for the first few weeks of Pardes learning. During these weeks, many of the classes are dedicated to themes relevant to Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Students learn both in Havruta study (partner learning) and in seminar-style classes.
Learning in Elul is an excellent opportunity to prepare oneself for the high holidays. Through intensive textual study of high holiday themes, one gains understanding and practical knowledge which will make help enhance the celebration of the high holidays for years to come.
Levels of Instruction
Classes are offered in seven levels, from beginners to advanced, according to the students' Hebrew language skills and background in Jewish studies. Elul participants are expected to have a basic reading knowledge of Hebrew or higher.
Living Arrangements
Pardes students live in apartments in Jerusalem, and Pardes provides information on apartment rentals.

Schedule
Classes meet Sunday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is also possible to learn part-time.
