Description
During the first month of the fall semester, our Year Program students take part in our special "Elul Program", dedicated to themes relevant to Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. This program is also open to those wishing to learn through the High Holidays only.
The Elul program is an excellent opportunity to prepare oneself for the high holidays. Through intensive textual study of high holiday themes, one gains understanding and practical knowledge which will make one's observance of the high holidays more meaningful for years to come. In the Elul program, learning is full time from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., but one may learn part-time as well.
Levels of Instruction
Classes are offered in seven levels, from beginners to advanced, according
to the students' Hebrew language skills and background in Jewish studies.
Elul participants are expected to have a basic reading knowledge of Hebrew
or higher.
Living Arrangements
Pardes students live in apartments in Jerusalem. Pardes provides information on apartment rentals, as well as offering a partner concierge service for housing and other travel arrangements.
