Hollywood Producer Elected Vice President Of American Pardes Foundation, Strengthening Commitment To Israel & Young People

New York, NY - December 8, 2008 - LA resident and President of Barad Entertainment Inc., Thomas K. Barad has been elected Vice President of The American Pardes Foundation, which serves as the U.S. arm of the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem.

Newly elected Mr. Barad said: “I am thrilled to be continuing on the American board of Pardes. Pardes sets the bar for the highest standards in Jewish learning and with a new Jerusalem campus planned and range of innovative teaching programs on offer, these are exciting times for Pardes.”

A film producer (OPEN WINDOW, CRAZY PEOPLE), and former Sr. Vice President of Paramount Pictures Motion Picture Group, Mr. Barad is deeply involved in the Jewish community. He created and published On One Foot – a pocket-sized book designed to help students access quick and clear information to respond to frequently heard accusations about Israel. He helped develop Project Communicate, run by entertainment industry members, connecting unaffiliated Jewish college students to Israel and their Jewish identity. He also sits on the board of The American Jewish University.

Rabbi Daniel Landes, Director of the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, welcomed Mr. Barad’s appointment: “We are very fortunate to have Tom among our ambassadors in America. His desire to ‘do’ and not only ‘say’, embodies what Pardes is all about and we look forward to moving the organization forward together in the coming year.”
